Meet the Re-Connect Team
I have been involved with the Board since the establishment of Re-Connect in 2007. As a little girl of 9 years I read a life changing story of an orphan that gripped my heart.
I have been involved in various degrees of effort since 2009. I love spending time with the
kids, but realise that my strengths lie more with connecting people to Re-Connect and the
administrative side of things.
I believe there is a generational calling on our family for the orphans of South Africa. My father use to rent six to eight double decker busses and sent them out in the slum areas of Johannesburg
Leandri van der Wat
Leandri van der Wat is a 25 year old Masters Student in Chemistry at the university of Pretoria. She owns a coffee roastery, Roast Republic, which generates funds to send underprivileged children to school.
Seline van der Wat
I became involved at Re-Connect while still a student at the university of Pretoria.
I obtained my degree in Engineering, but have a passion for education, events and bringing people together.
I am the guardian at Re-Connect Consantia Park. Children are my passion and I enjoy taking care of all their needs. I dream big for Re-Connect and would love to see how we can touch more children through more houses.
I am married to Betty and support her where ever possible. I do basic maintenance in and around the house, while fulfilling a fatherly role for the kids in our home.
I am the guardian at the Eersterust house, and had children in Foster Care since 1992. I have stopped counting how many children have lived with me.
